The Central Massachusetts Chapter of The Cure Starts Now was started in honor of Kate Arpano. She was diagnosed with DIPG on August 16, 2014. She fought with bravery and strength for 17 months. In her all too short six years here on Earth, Kate inspired so many with her love for life, compassion towards others, and her endless silliness. She loved playing with her little sister, dancing, playing silly jokes, school, cooking, shopping and cats. Kate taught everyone that there is always time to stop to smell the flowers, to find joy in every single day, and to do good for others. Her belly giggles, contagious smile and big hugs will be missed every day.
